Glenross Golf Course Community

Delaware, Ohio

The Glenross Golf Course Community project consisted of converting an existing-aging golf course into a modern golf course community. The project, located in Delaware, Ohio, included the total reconstruction of an existing 18-hole golf course, construction of a state of the art clubhouse and community center, approximately 240 residential lots, a 10-acre condominium complex, and a 7-acre patio home development. EMH&T provided planning, site civil engineering and surveying services on this 285-acre site for Romanelli and Hughes (golf course developer), Dominion Homes (single-family home developer) and Mid-Ohio Development (condominium developer). Working in conjunction with the golf course architect, EMH&T helped develop a layout that integrated the course with the various residential components. In addition, EMH&T created an extensive hydraulic model of the site, which was used to design the golf course ponds to serve for course irrigation and detention for the entire site. From this model, EMH&T was able to design a storm sewer system that provided drainage for golf course and the internal residential areas. EMH&T completed designs for the widening and rehabilitation of Cheshire Road, which bisects the site. The first section of the single-family residential development was chosen to host the 2005 Parade of Homes. EMH&T worked closely with our clients and the City of Delaware in order to meet the stringent deadlines necessary to make this event happen.
